Prompt #1 for [info]voicesinmyhead
Prompt #1 - Who are you?

To anyone that stops by my shop, I'm that female mechanic that bought her shop from the old fae. To Tony, I'm the only person that can tell it's him no matter what his disguise. To the vampires I use to be just their mechanic, now, I'm something to fear. According to them, my father's people use to hunt them. To the Columbia Basin Pack, I'm a walking, talking, breathing, pain in the ass. To the Marrok, I'm family though the women of the pack will try to tell you otherwise.

I am Mercedes Thompson. The mechanic for a majority of the outlining area of my town, supernatural or not. I'm half native-american thanks to my dad. And, also thanks to my father, I'm a skin walker. This means I have the magic to shift from human to coyote to human easily. I don't get the strength that the werewolves get, but my senses are coyote strong and I'm faster that a werewolf. Not by much, but enough to count in a race for my life. I'm also not tied to the moon like they are. While my temper my suffer if I don't shift after a while, I am not tied to a schedule.

Squee! I loved that book! I have Blood Bound, the second book Briggs wrote about Mercy but I haven't read it yet. Looking forward to seeing your take on her! =)

Heh! I haven't read Blood Bound yet, though I have it too. ^_^ I'm having Mercy from the first book, Moon Called. And side note, I absolutely love your OC!

Yay! It's nice to hear others like her. I just hope I can keep her entertaining for others to read about. ;)

Hello, Mercedes. I am Celena. It is a pleasure to meet another member of the supernatural community. I have a few questions for you if you do not mind.

I must admit that I have never met a skin walker before. I have always wondered what it would be like to be able to have such a talent. Can you describe what it is like to be able to do such a thing? What it means to you and how you feel about it?

It's nice to meet you Celena. What branch of the supernatural are you? And call me Mercy. I think the only time people call me Mercedes is when I've done something stupid, dangerous, or both. And I don't mind questions though I keep the right to withhold an answer, should I deep the question too deep.

First off, I'm not surprised that you've never met a skin walker before. From what I hear, the vampires took great lengths to try and eradicate any and all they could find. I haven't ever met another skin walker myself. As for shifting to coyote, there's nothing really to describe. The magic that I have for the shift is instantaneous. One moment I'm on two legs, the next I'm on four. The world through the sights, sounds, smells, and perspective of a coyote is amazing, and words can't describe how much I love having the ability. It means more to me that anything else in this world, and not just because it's pretty much the only thing I inherited from my father. Despite how the humans view the supernatural community, I'd never trade my gift for anything. I feel it's a gift, and I use and cherish the ability everyday.

I am a Fae of the Unseelie Courts, Mercy. I have found that in some places there are no distinctions between the Fae and they do not have Courts. I just happen to be of the variety that do have ruling Courts.

Your talent, or should that be birthright?, sounds very interesting and less of an inconvenience than what the weres deal with.

I never really learned much about the Fae in my area, so I don't know if they are in courts. AllI know is the person I bought my shop from was Fae, he's a really good guy to know, and the dagger he has is amazing.

Birthright would probably be more accurate, I'd think. And, from what I've seen growing up around the werewolves, I'd agree. They get the super strength, but they are also tied to the moon, stronger instincts that rule them, and a pack structure that leaves freedom looking sadly missing. I'd say I got the better end of the shifter stick myself.
